Sesleria heufleriana Blue Porcupine

Sesleria is a dense, evergreen ornamental grass that grows to a height of about 25-30 cm. Its leaves are unique: their surface is mostly green or gray-green, while the underside is ashy, silvery-blue. Its flowers bloom in early spring, with dark purple spikes on slender stems that turn into small white flowers. It prefers a sunny, semi-shaded spot and well-structured soil. Thanks to its compact form, it is perfect as an edging plant along paths, in rock gardens and in pots. It can be spectacular in combination with other grasses and perennials.
